All Schools at UI are supported through the collections and the library offers varied services that support studies at UI and reasearch both at UI and in Iceland. The library ́s operations are guided by professionalism, ambition and collaboration aimed at implementing new ideas and projects as NULI continuously works towards improving the quality of its collections and services. The library offers good facilities for studies and research as well as easy access to library materials both electronic and print. The universities in Iceland and the National and University Library of Iceland jointly run two Open Access repositories: Opin visindi the institutional repository for Open Access research outputs and PhD dissertations and an institutional repository for graduate and undergraduate theses. The purpose of these repositories is to make research results conducted at Icelandic universities accessible without hindrance or charge. Deposits are also permanently preserved by NULI.
